AJAX FILMS is a production company founded in 1990 in New York City by Robert Flanagan. Living and working out of an East Village storefront Flanagan produced many experimental shorts. Joined in 1993 by Suzan Al-Doghachi, AJAX moved into feature film. In 2000 they began producing documentaries in Central America. The filmmakers currently split their time between New York City and Guatemala.
Their influences are 60’s Underground Movies, French New Wave, Italian Neorealism, Hollywood Classics as well as B-Movies.
All their films are guided by their personal vision to make an alternative cinema that is accessible, marketable, thought provoking and entertaining.
